Spiritual warfare...or just a dream?
For those of you who don't know me, I have been going through a lot of new things in my life. This past summer I bought a house in May, then I got married in June. It's been quite a trip. The first thing I did when I got the keys to my house was pray through it with some friends. I really recommend doing this where every you are living. Since that first time my newly acquired wife and I have prayed through it quite a bit. Sometimes she will go to sleep thinking there is something in the house that isn't of this earth, so we pray. This isn't something really abnormal to me though. The thing that is different for me is a re-occurring dream I've been having since I have been married. In the dream I am inside our house and there is a demon that I can see and I am scolding it by speaking in tongues while it cowers back. I also am a little afraid in my dream but I know exactly what I am doing and saying and I am positive that I am winning this "battle". And also a lot of the times I wake up speaking in tongues. I have talked to some of my friends and so far one person has had the same dream. I'm not really wondering 'what does it all mean' but more of 'is this normal'? I'm not sure if the enemy is trying to attack me, or if it's just a dream. Has anyone else ever had anything like this?

My wife and I have been married 9 years now. The first 4 years of our marriage we lived in what we now affectionately refer to as the "crack" house. We had a drug dealer on one side, a child molestor on the other side, and more demonic activity than Freddy Kruger holding a seance. The tweakers would roam the street at night outside our home.
Anyway, we experienced many strange things we still don't fully understand and certainly didn't enjoy. One of the worst was a 6 month period where the telephone would ring (one ring only) just about every night at 3:10 a.m. Auto-Fax? Prank? Wes Craven? Never figured it out.
I don't claim to know a whole lot about this stuff, but I have come to the conclusion that the Lord allowed it in our lives for a season to teach us several things, including how to fight. (I'm not suggesting that's why it's happening to you, just relating our story.)
The reason I'm writing this comment is that though I can't answer the question as to whether it is normal or not, I just wanted to let you know you're not alone in this.
One more thing, I remember as a kid growing up that on a few occasions my Dad would have dreams like this and would also wake up speaking in tongues. I think that particular thing has only happened to me once or twice, but not for long periods of time like what you are experiencing.

this isn't too uncommon - you are under attack - the fact that you're A) living for Jesus actively, B) involved in leading others in doing the same, means its ON.
Also, it's indicative of the very real spiritual battle that we're in. Sometimes this battle shows up in our 'unconscious' but very aware brain.
You're very normal & perceptive.
I wouldnt say he's normal. Have you seen how much his face stretches? And the nipple thing...
