Myspace
On the verge of being a hypocrite, I now have a myspace account. Initially, I started this to keep up with a youth who is now an exchange student in Argentina. I want to know if anybody likes myspace. I don't. I'd rather blog. One of the first things I did was search for people in my high school who are also on myspace. In the famous words of the Spleen "BIG MISTAKE". It seems to me that for my old high school student body, myspace has become a place to come out of the closet and tell everybody how much they love to party and drink their lives away. It's really frustrating to see the people who used to have some sense of morality throw it all away for the sake of college 'fun'. But I guess that's why they are old friends instead of friends. And that's why I like blogging over myspace. Does anyone have a viable argument in favor of myspace?

why, no i don't. just thought i'd say hi.
It's a great place to hook up with beer sluts.
First off, regarding the youth in argentina...Dave you're married & she's 14. It's always wrong, except in Africa. Myspace will be a good way to pimp your band. I have an account, however, Ive never used it. David, are you offering yourself as easy to hook up with? Do you like natie lite?
I'm very easy to hook up with. Ask my wife, she'll tell you I'm a real floozy.

I have no blog-site preference, yet I use Hotmail as my client. Mostly that was because it was easy to use at the time, and I am too lazy to make a new one. I like it just where it is. I really don't know anyone else, but my buddy Paula who uses it.
i think it is kinda like instant mesg. made very, very easy plus alot of +++. i have only been on for a few weeks and in the youth dept i see it as a very good communication tool. it makes your email very accesible and easy to find. we tried to encourage bloggin to the youth and they just weren't all that into but you talk to most of them and they use myspace. there is alot of crap on there as well though that you just have to weed through. mostly they don't use the comment area as much as emailin you. don't know why it works but IT DOES!!! if i were a parent of a teen i would be all over it. one more thing the bulletin + is good for announcements made quick and easy.
still like bloggin though cause i don't think on myspace most even read the blogs. those would be my arguments.
great points, noel. gotta reach 'em where they're @.
um, yeah. if you are trying to connect with 14-20 year old girls, you're in the right place. unfortunately, that should only really apply to noel in this crowd, so you're out of luck if you want a good reason to keep myspace going.
i don't care much for the GUI (Graphical User Interface) of myspace.
It turns out I have high speed internet.
