Haters

I wanted to talk about Bush being ripped at the funeral for Correta Scott King. I don't care if you hate him, love him, or just don't really care, is a funeral really a place to slam the president that is sitting right behind you? It's almost as if the far left wants to slam President Bush whenever possible. I'm getting kind of tired of all these haters. I guess the only thing you can do about it is exactly what President Bush did, awkwardly smile as they just keep on hating. I thought that a funeral was supposed to be about remembering the life of the person that died. Maybe they are blaming her death on President Bush as well. As Christians we are supposed to have good things come out of our mouth, things of encouragement and love. Is it just me, or is this party filled with haters not so appealing to Christians?

it's just a sign of how far off the current "black leadership" is from what mlk had envisioned.

it's no wonder no significant strides have been made by an entire ethnic group since the death of mlk. with "leaders" like they currently have, nothing will change except maybe a continually inflated sense of entitlement.

94% of black people voted Republican pre-FDR
6% of black people voted Republican (W)

There's been an interesting move in politics that really has more to do with perception than reality - What REALLY is the party of the disenfranchised?

I especially didn't appreciate Jimmy Carter's comments, considering the protocol normally practiced by living former Presidents not to besmirch the sitting President. I was pleasantly surprised that the Clinton's managed to avoid doing this.

As our nation celebrated the life of our beloved Coretta Scott King at her funeral, some of them took the time to stand at the pulpit and criticize our war in Iraq. How dare they. Coretta Scott King was perfectly capable of either supporting or not supporting the war in her lifetime ("As Bush listens, speakers aim barbs at war, spying," News, Wednesday).

To take a cheap political shot at our president, who graciously accepted the invitation to attend the funeral, was callous, mean-spirited and even vicious
