Donuts Aren't Free
There is a 'mega-church' (runnin' round 8G) that decided they need to downsize, that's right downsize. Criteria for the downsize, if you don't tithe, volunteer, or aren't involved in small groups...then take a hike. Good short read here. I am very interested to hear some thoughts on this. People are saying that this is a trend.

So you found a christian version of "The Onion."
Pretty funny. I liked the "Jesus loves you, but then again, he loves everybody" T-shirt.
Unbelievable. I thought the church's mission was not only to reach the unsaved but to disciple those who were saved. Telling them to take a hike is a good way to bring them to Christian maturity!
I wonder how many testimonies of people who got burned and decided to just leave the church and Christianity altogether they could have found to go along with the one who did start tithing?
Let's always look at the bottom line and realize that people are our source and not God. If they don't ante up, just give them the boot.
How about just charging a fee as you enter, like a concert. Good seats could be higher priced, and charge for nursery etc... Then just hire professional people to teach the classes etc.. How about that article on the 1st class nursery, where you can pay 15 dollars each week so your kid gets to go behind the curtain for the good snacks and personal one on one stories and crafts????? Lord help us.
Don't you all see that the article is supposed to be funny?
I see it now, but didn't take the time to read the whole website the first time through. :)
It's a pretty good web site. There was an awesome read a while back about torturing youth pastors, locking them in closets and such. Makes me wonder if it really is happening. I mean, wouldn't you go to a church who's slogan was 'no wussies allowed!'?
